World Autism Awareness Day. Colorful puzzle ribbon on yellow background, top view.jpg

Welcome to my website!

It seems like it’s hard to get good information about Autism because everyone thinks they know what Autism is— maybe because they know one or two Autistic people— but they don’t realize that it actually means a lot of different things.  There’s a saying in the Autism community: “If you know one Autistic person, you know one Autistic person.” Autism can be very different from one person to the next.

Also, people get Autism mixed up with other things. For example, Autistic brains can be very busy and go off-topic into a dreamland, so people with Autism can have a hard time focusing. People get this confused with AD/HD. People who have AD/HD have a hard time focusing for completely different reasons.

Then, there is  the term “neurodivergent.” Autistic people are sometimes called “neurodivergent.” That just means your brain works differently than the “norm.” Lots of people are neurodivergent. And you tell me, how do you define “the norm?”  What does that even MEAN?!

I have collected a lot of information here that has been provided by reliable sources to answer people’s questions about Autism.

I hope this is helpful to you! If you have another question about Autism, please feel free to email me at roguea@roycemoreschool.org. I will try to find you a good answer!
